Green School - Green Community

A sustainable plan for food security

Our Food Security Initiative, 'green school, green community' program is geared to combat food insecurity in a sustainable manner, by empowering children in schools and the preschool children's mothers to grow their own organic vegetables in school gardens and preschool gardens and subsequently in their homes & communities.
All the photos in the collage above are from our 'Green school- green Community program' implanted in Government Schools in Tamil Nadu from 2017 - date , which has resulted in Organic vegetables being available from the school garden to be used in the school nutrition kitchen to provide meals for the vulnerable school children & also the children were able to sell surplus vegetables, and use that money to sustain their gardens.

Make Sri Lanka Safe for Women

Gender Equality: SGBV & GBV Prevention & Cure, Through the “Make Sri Lanka Safe for Woman Initiative”, which takes a two pronged approach;

‘Prevention’ - through teaching ‘Women & Child safety & self defense techniques with the core methodology of building belief -building strategy-building strength- overcoming fear and learning decisiveness, in school & college students, preschool & school students’ mothers, women societies etc.

‘Cure’ -workshops sensitizing male youth to respect women and learn to accept rejection from women without retaliation.

The “Make Sri Lanka Safe for Woman Initiative” will begin in the 1st year of our implementation in Jaffna at the very top of Sri Lanka and will continue to snowball over the next 5-10 years down into the central provinces and then east and west until we reach the southern province, so that all women regardless of their ethnicity will benefit from these trainings and be safe from Gender based Violence,

Furthermore this will also 'bring about reconciliation' through the shared experiences of violations faced by women from all ethnicities and to unify them in a quest to make their homeland a place where women can feel safe and protected.
